At the end of the event the investors will pick the pitch night winners and the winning startups have an opportunity to win a prize.

Shawn Merani is a serial entrepreneur and co-founder and VC partner at Flight Ventures, a VC firm backed by over 2,000 angel investors that does seed, early stage and later stage venture investments.
Flight Ventures was the first investment firm leveraging Angellist syndicates to crowdsource funds and manage 3 out of the top 10 syndicates on the AngelList platform.
Flight’s main syndicate, the Gil Penchina Syndicate, has thousands of backers and is considered one of the most successful AngelList syndicates. Other syndicates include The SaaS Syndicate, The Late stage Pre-IPO Syndicate and many more.
Flight Ventures made over 50 investments in the last 3 years, focusing primarily on early stage software, internet and mobile companies across a variety of sectors.

He was previously a founding partner of the Private Shares marketplace at Liquidnet, which enabled 750 of the world’s leading asset managers with opportunities to build positions in high growth companies and were able to growth the marketplace to $150MM+ GMV in the first two years.
Prior to Liquidnet, Shawn was Senior Director, Business Development at ReachLocal, a provider of local online marketing solutions for small and medium sized businesses.
Shawn received a BA in Economics and a BS in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley and his MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Spencer Foust is an investor at Sozo Ventures, a venture capital firm that recently raised $200M fund.
Some of Sozo’s investments include Twitter, Square, Palantir, Coinbase, Revinate, Insightly, Opower, ServiceMax, and MongoDB among others. Recently, General Electric bought ServiceMax, a cloud-based provider of software used in inventory and workforce management, for $915M.
Spencer was a Teaching Assistant at Stanford University, Research Assistant at Virginia Tech and Research Fellow at University of Arkansas. He is currently a Peer Advisor at Stanford University.
He also worked at Apple as Qualification Lead Program Manager for iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Before Apple Spencer was also Engineering Program Manager at Sandia National Laboratories.
Spencer was Vice President of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and President of the American Indian Science and Engineering Society. He is currently Vice President of the Institute for Operations Research and Management Sciences.
Spencer has a Masters degree from Stanford University in Technology Engineering Management and a Mechanical Engineering degree from University of Arkansas.

She is a serial entrepreneur, Venture Partner at Founders Floor Accelerator and Founder of Silicon Valley Incubator.
